Privacy Policy

RoleVerdict is a job-search tool. This page explains, in plain language, what data we handle and why. The short version: your data is used to run your job search for you — it is never sold, and nobody else's AI gets trained on it by us.

What we collect

• Account: your email address and a password (stored hashed by our auth provider).
• Profile & résumé: the roles, skills, locations, salary preferences, and résumé text you provide — this powers matching and tailoring.
• Your search data: jobs you save or track, application stages, contacts, notes, activities, achievements, and chats with the assistant.
• Usage counts: how many AI actions you use each day (to enforce plan limits).
• Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — only your plan status and Stripe customer reference.
• Support messages: what you send through the support form, so we can reply.
• Analytics (optional): anonymous usage statistics via Google Analytics, only if you allow it in the cookie banner.

How AI processing works

RoleVerdict's features (match scoring, deep-dives, cover letters, the Sprout assistant, briefings) send the relevant parts of your data — for example your profile, résumé text, and a job description — to Anthropic's Claude API to generate results. When scanning job boards, the search terms derived from your target roles and locations are sent to job-data providers; your résumé is not.

Who we share data with

Only the service providers needed to run the product, and never for their advertising:

• Supabase — database and authentication hosting
• Vercel — application hosting
• Anthropic — AI processing (Claude API)
• Stripe — payments and subscriptions
• Job-data providers (e.g. Adzuna, Google-for-Jobs via JSearch, public company job boards) — receive only search queries
• Google Analytics — only with your consent
• Resend — transactional email, when enabled

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies

• Essential (always on): sign-in session cookies, and Stripe's cookies during checkout for fraud prevention. The site can't work without these.
• Analytics (your choice): Google Analytics cookies load only after you choose "Allow analytics" in the banner.

You can reset your cookie choice at any time and the banner will ask again.

Retention & deleting your data

Your data stays as long as your account does. To delete your account and everything in it (profile, résumé, jobs, contacts, chats), send a request through the support form from your account email — deletion removes your records from the live database. Anonymous, aggregate statistics (like how often a job posting has been seen) contain no personal data and are retained.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS everywhere), access is isolated per-account with row-level security, and payment details never touch our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your résumé like the sensitive document it is.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data — most of it directly in the app, the rest via the support form. If you're in the EEA/UK: we process account and search data to provide the service you signed up for (contract), and analytics only with your consent. California residents: we don't sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.

Children

RoleVerdict is not intended for anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll note it here with a new date (and email account holders for significant changes).
